Competition Tennis
If you like the challenge of competition tennis there are many opportunities for you:
BADGE and PREMIER LEAGUE
Badge is a doubles only competition played from April through to September against clubs throughout metropolitan Sydney. This is the most prestigious and competitive inter-club competition available. Kooroora has teams up to Div 1.
Premier League is a team competition for the best players in Sydney featuring singles and doubles. It is for 5 weeks plus final and is played at the conclusion of the Badge season.
NORTHERN SUBURBS TENNIS ASSOCIATION
The NSTA offers four competitions throughout the year, each coinciding with the school term. Played in the Northern Suburbs area, NSTA competitions offer a range of options for all standards including:
- Saturday afternoon pairs (2 players; unisex; singles and doubles)
- Saturday afternoon mixed comp (2 men, 2 women; doubles only)
UTR EVENTS
JUNIOR Tennis
We provide a variety of tennis opportunities for junior players of all standards, from those starting out to elite tournament level players. We currently have a number of highly ranked junior players. Junior members can progress to play in adult competitions when they reach the appropriate standard.
JUNIOR PLAYING TIMES
Sydney Junior Team Tennis (SJTT) Sunday morning pairs comps conducted by NSTA (one per school term)
- 8:00 – 10.00 am UTR 0 – 2.5 and Green ball (1 singles/1 doubles set per player)
- 10:00am – 12.30am UTR 2.5 – 5.5 (1 pro-set singles / 1 doubles set per player)
- 12:30 – 3.00 pm Advanced UTR 5.5+ (1 best of 2 sets + MTB singles / 1 doubles set per player)
MEMBERSHIP
APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
At Kooroora we are passionate about tennis. We offer a broad range of membership packages aimed at delivering great tennis options for the community. Once you apply, you will be invited to the Club for grading (with one of Club selectors or our Junior Captain for juniors). That way we can provide you with playing options most suited to your ability. MEMBER PROTECTION and SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN
Kooroora has adopted the Tennis Australia Member Protection Policy and the Tennis Australia Safeguarding Children Code of Conduct. All members of the Club are bound by, and must agree to comply with, both the Policy and the Code as a condition of membership.
The Policy and Code also apply to all other persons who participate in any tournament, competition, activity or event held or sanctioned by the Club, whether as an administrator, umpire, player or in any other capacity. Our Member Protection Officers are Club President, Helen Ackerman and Andrew Corin. Members should contact one of them if they wish to raise any issues under the Codes.

Kooroora is partnered with Evolve Tennis Academy for all coaching needs. Private lessons, squads and group programs are available. Social Tennis
WEEKENDS
On Sunday afternoons, there is social tennis with fellow club members. A committee member is rostered to organize sets to guarantee a good standard of tennis. There are a variety of extra tennis opportunities such as unisex singles challenges, mini tournaments and inter-club matches throughout the year. We also provide free barbeques and other social events.
MIDWEEK
Every Thursday afternoon social tennis is available.
