Kooroora is a tennis club located in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney with 6 floodlit courts and a modern clubhouse in a quiet parkland setting. We play for fun, fitness, friendship and strong competition. We hope you feel inspired to find out more about Kooroora.

Competition Tennis

There is a strong emphasis on competition tennis at Kooroora. Our teams compete in the following competitions:

Badge is played from March through to August against clubs throughout metropolitan Sydney. This is the most prestigious and competitive inter-club competition available.  Kooroora enters Mens and Womens teams from Div 1 and below.

Premier League is a team competition for the best players in Sydney featuring singles and doubles. It is for 5 weeks in duration plus final and is played at the conclusion of the Badge season.

Played in the Northern Suburbs area and offers a range of options including:

  • Saturday afternoon pairs (2 players; unisex; singles and doubles)
  • Saturday afternoon mixed comp (2 men, 2 women; doubles only)

Kooroora conducts verified UTR singles and doubles events. This provides our members with regular, competitive matchplay.

New members are required to have a minimum playing standard. Once you apply, our Club Captain will invite you to attend for grading (social tennis on the weekend for adults; a grading hit with our Junior captain for juniors). That way we can place you in a team most suited to your level. If you would like to find out more about membership, send us an enquiry using the button below.

Social Tennis

On Sunday afternoons, there is social tennis with fellow club members. A committee member is rostered to organize sets to guarantee a good standard of tennis. There are a variety of extra tennis opportunities such as unisex singles challenges, mini tournaments and inter-club matches throughout the year. We also provide free barbeques and other social events.

  • Saturday: 2pm-6pm (free court access when comp is in recess)
  • Sunday: 2pm-6pm (organised sets)

We provide a variety of tennis opportunities for junior players of all standards, from those starting out to elite tournament level players. We currently have a number of highly ranked junior players. Junior members can progress to play in adult competitions when they reach the appropriate standard. There are a large number of junior members playing throughout the grades.

Sunday morning pairs comps (one per school term)

  • 8:00- 10.00am UTR 0 – 3.5 and Green ball (1 singles/1 doubles set per player)
  • 10:00am – 12.30am UTR 3.5 – 7.0  (1 pro-set singles / 1 doubles set per player)
  • 10am – 12:30pm Premier League UTR 7+ (1 pro-set singles / 1 doubles set per player)
